Terms of use

These terms are between De-Int Ltd, trading as The Brokers Terminal ("we", "us"), and the business that subscribes ("you", "your firm"), including every user your firm adds. By subscribing or using the terminal, you agree to them.

1. Who the terminal is for

The terminal is a professional tool for businesses and the people who work in them. It is not for consumers or for personal use, and you confirm that you subscribe in the course of your business.

2. Information, not advice

  • The terminal provides market information, research and tools to support conversations with your clients. It does not give personal recommendations, investment, tax, legal or financial advice, and nothing in it is an offer or a solicitation to buy or sell any investment.
  • Market prices are delayed and for information only. Figures come from the sources shown and can be revised, late or wrong. Check anything you rely on.
  • Content written with the help of artificial intelligence, including Intel, briefs, talking points and reports, can contain mistakes. You must review it before using it.
  • The value of investments can fall as well as rise. Past performance is not a guide to the future.

3. Your responsibilities when you speak to clients

  • You and your firm are responsible for everything you say, write or send to clients and prospects, including reports, emails and talking points made in the terminal.
  • Where a communication is a financial promotion, it must be made or approved by a firm authorised to do so, and must meet the rules that apply to you, including the FCA's rules where relevant.
  • You are responsible for deciding whether any product or conversation is suitable for a client, and for your own regulatory records.

4. Client details you enter

  • Your firm is the controller of personal data about your clients that you record in the terminal (client book, fact find, notes). We process it for you as set out in our privacy and data processing terms, which form part of these terms.
  • You must have a lawful basis for what you record and tell your clients how you use their information.
  • Only record what you need. Do not enter health information, bank or card details, passwords or government identity numbers.

5. Using the data and content

We give your firm a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the terminal and its content for your own business while you subscribe. You may share short extracts, charts and reports with your own clients as part of your normal business, with their sources. You must not:

  • resell, sublicense or redistribute the data or content, or make it available to anyone outside your firm other than your own clients and the public posting allowed below;
  • copy data out in bulk, scrape the terminal, or use it to build or feed another product or database;
  • use information about named individuals in the terminal (for example the wealth tracker) to contact them for marketing, or to build lists of people to contact;
  • share log-ins: each user has their own account;
  • try to get around security, limits or credit charges, or interfere with the service.

Posting in public (social media, websites, newsletters)

  • With the mark: you may post a single chart, figure or short extract from the terminal on your firm's own social media, website or newsletter, as long as it keeps its source line and the words "Source: The Brokers Terminal" stay visible and are not cropped or edited out.
  • Under your own name: posts made with the Social media pack are made for your firm and may be published under your own brand, without our mark, for as long as you subscribe to the pack. Each post keeps the official source of its figures.
  • Official open data (for example ONS, HMRC, the Bank of England and the World Bank, under the Open Government Licence or CC BY) belongs to those bodies and you may always reuse it from them directly, with their attribution.
  • Licensed data (for example market prices, auction results, coin and bottle data, trade databases and partner terminal data) must never be posted or republished, with or without our mark.
  • You are responsible for what your firm publishes, including any approval it needs as a financial promotion and checking it with your own compliance. Everything we provide is information, not advice.

6. Your firm's desk wall and chat

Posts, comments and messages are visible to people at your firm. You are responsible for what your users post. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, confidential to a client, or that you do not have the right to share. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

7. Subscriptions, TBT credits and payment

  • Plans, prices and the monthly TBT allowance are shown at sign-up and in the terminal. Monthly TBT does not roll over. TBT you buy does not expire while your subscription is active.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. Payments are not refunded for part periods or for TBT already used or bought; the free trial lets you try the terminal first.
  • The Social media pack is an optional monthly add-on for Corporate firms (Social Starter, 12 posts a month, £149; Social Pro, 20 posts a month, £249), charged to the firm's card on file with its subscription. It can be stopped at any time and ends at the next renewal; part months are not refunded. Posts already made stay yours to use.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the terminal available and accurate, but it is provided as it is and as available. Outside data sources can be late, change or stop. We improve the terminal often and may change, add or remove features.

9. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
  • We are not liable for loss of profit, business, clients or data, or for any indirect loss, or for decisions you or your clients make using the terminal.
  • Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees your firm paid us in that period.

10. Suspension and ending

We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if fees are unpaid, or to protect the service or other users. When a subscription ends, your firm can export its client data for 30 days, after which it is deleted.

11. Intellectual property

The terminal, its design, software, reports and our own content belong to us or our licensors. Third-party data remains the property of its providers and is used under their licences (details of sources and licences are available on request).

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms and will tell subscribers about significant changes in advance.
